A warm welcome to Katrine Gerassimovitch Eskildsen, who joined our group this August as a new PhD student.

Katrine’s project will focus on addressing the global decline of insects and pollinators by developing a new methodology for real-time insect diversity assessment. A key part of his work will involve building six autonomous, weatherproof insect sensors. These will be deployed for two years to continuously monitor insect populations across different landscapes. This research aims to provide a clearer understanding of how land-use changes impact insect diversity and will help in developing effective countermeasures.
